Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar D.Sumiyabazar held a meeting with the delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) led by Director for East Asia of the agency Shinozaki Yusuke.
During the meeting, Ajilchin Flyover, Sapporo, and Bayanburd Intersection projects were discussed, and Road Transport Planning and Monitoring Capacity Building Project was introduced.
Mayor thanked the JICA representatives for their support and cooperation in implementing projects in many fields, especially reducing traffic congestion.
Director Shinozaki Yusuke said, “This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. On this occasion, JICA is planning to implement a number of projects”, while emphasizing the importance of the construction of the Ajilchin Flyover which is significant to reducing traffic congestion of Peace and Chinggis avenues.
In addition, the meeting touched on public transport issues in Ulaanbaatar and solutions and the sides agreed to explore opportunities for cooperation in this direction.
